A credit controller is a vital member of a finance team. Working alongside or as part of the Accounts Receivable team, they ensure that clients pay on time, whilst maintaining a good relationship with the clients.
They have strong relations with the Sales/Client Management teams, helping balance client happiness with timely payments.
Credit Controller Duties
A Credit Controller typically has the following duties:
- Monitor Aged Debtor Balances, keeping the DSO below an acceptable level
- Reconcile complex accounts (working with the clients finance team at times)
- Create and implement policies and procedures to assist in collecting cash
- Assist the Financial Controller and Treasury Manager in forecasting the 13 week cash flow
